This is an example of a comic link - just replace ‘http’ with ‘cbr’. For cbz comics, you would replace ‘http’ with ‘cbz’. In this example, the comic file has a .rar ending which stands for a RAR archive (that is, a folder of comic image pages, compressed with RAR). We recommend you use standard zip tools to compress a folder of comic image pages to createa a ZIP archive, and then rename the extension .zip to .cbz.

To celebrate the 600th edition of the Wonder Woman legend, the feminist superhero has been given a makeover. Out go the star-studded big knickers, red corset and saucy boots; in come a pair of modest leggings, a blue jacket and some rather more sensible navy shoes.

LIVE-ACTION BLUE BEETLE?

Geoff Johns over at DCU has posted some pics of a live-action special effects test for Blue Beetle. According to Johns:

I feel very fortunate to have been a part of Blue Beetle’s introduction way back in INFINITE CRISIS. I’ve said it before, but thanks to the BLUE BEETLE series launched by Keith Giffen and John Rogers with a great design by Cully Hamner, Jaime Reyes rocks. Great character, great story, great look. He’s already appeared in animation, had action figures and right now he’s on my computer in live-action glory. I have an early special effects test that has been floating around of what his armored scarab-suit could look like. This isn’t final. This isn’t greenlit. It’s only a test that was done. We still have a long way to go to see if we can get this off the ground and a lot of people to jump on board…

What with the World Cup it’s the perfect excuse to get a wee bit patriotic. Here at Pixelverse we’ve been doing our bit (!) by delving back into the origins of some of 2000AD’s most iconic characters - Nemesis the Warlock, Rogue Trooper, Halo Jones, Slaine, and mean ol’ Judge Dredd himself. With alumni including Alan Moore, Kevin O’Neill, Pat Mills, Simon Bisley, John Wagner and so on, 2000AD really is something special. THE LOSERS follows a special forces unit who are tasked with waging the war on terror, but get betrayed by their handler. They then band together to take their revenge… The plot of the movie, currently on release in the UK, follows the story arc of the first 6 issues of the DC-Vertigo comic. Issues 1-6 are collectively known as Ante Up and can be read for FREE right HERE.

Here be slight spoilers… The official synopsis for the upcoming Green Lantern movie has been released online. The film, starring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, is due to be released mid-June 2011.

Guillermo Del Toro has announced that he is departing The Hobbit. There’s speculation that Peter Jackson may have to step in to direct, but he is apparently obligated to Tintin 2.
